The da Vinci Cup is an intense, holistic, challenge among highly educated and gifted scholar athletes.
Participants compete in the areas of problem solving, probability, advanced mathematics, civilization modeling, negotiation, and Bible knowledge. In additional to the high level intellectual rigor there is an intense physical component to the competition which requires participants to compete in a two hour test of stamina and endurance. Participants must traverse mountainous terrain in an attempt to transport discs of knowledge into 18 repositories of wisdom.
History of 'The Cup'
The da Vinci cup was handcrafted by founder Rob Davis and is made of Carolina hand blow glass with a mauve cerama. It's base was crafted in the Davis forge. The da Vinci Cup is temporarily on display in the Charlotte Museum of Contemporary Art.
Leonardo da Vinci
The de Vinci Cup was inspired by the Renaissance genius Leonardo da Vinci (1452 - 1519). De Vinci was a true Renaissance Man. He was an artist, engineer, architect, and scientist.
